Wintertime Worries – Ice & Water Backup
February 5, 2011
We found a vast amount of roofs that we completed this year were under ventilated and insulated; with many suffering from the growth of toxic molds, in their attic and wall cavities.
The additional concerns are with the onset of our current winter conditions:
- The weight of the ice and snow can damage gutters and fascia.
- The melting and falling ice can infiltrate the wall cavities and lead to structural damage and damage to shrubbery below.
- Leading to shingle, insulation and interior damage.
- Mold & mildew can form, creating unpleasant odors and mold spores, resulting in poor indoor air quality.
- The presence of mold can result in health issues such as allergic reactions and asthma attacks.
Please call if you would like our team of experts to evaluate your current building envelope, to see if you meet today’s Department of Energy’s standards. The service is free and will at least give you the peace of mind to know where you stand.
Respectfully,
Christopher J. Koehler
